Ready to book your dream resort in San Juan Siquijor?
Some of the best resorts in San Juan on Siquijor island are concentrated along a short 2 km road by the beach. This part of San Juan is the best area to stay if you want to be close to the beach. And some of the favorite and best rated resorts are literally on the beach.
This main tourist area in San Juan is also a favorite with tourists because its puts you close to a number of restaurants, beach bars and a beach with crystal clear waters and vibrant underwater life.

But San Juan is a relatively large area that stretches 15km along the coast and around 3km inland. This means you can find beach resorts in San Juan without being in the main tourist area. Or head further inland and find your own spot in a resort nestled in the jungle.
This guide will focus on the best resorts in the San Juan area of Siquijor. And you’ll also find details about what to expect at the resort as well as the location.
My personal favorite resorts in San Juan are Coco Grove Beach Resort because its literally on the beach facing the sunrise and they treat guests like royalty.
And South Mountain Resort for its cooler climate in the mountains and pool with sweeping jungle views.

Read this if you plan visiting Siquijor
Siquijor is a relatively small island when compared to other islands in the Philippines like Cebu, Bohol or Palawan. But that doesn’t mean its tiny. You’ll still need a way to reach the tourists spots which are often about 45 minutes ride in between.
The best way to explore Siquijor is by scooter. The streets here are well maintained, traffic is inexistent, (except if you get caught behind someone transporting a massive pig on a tiny scooter) and scooters are by the most fun way to move around freely.
Scooters
Scooters cost around ₱350 ($6.50) for a day and generally the price goes down depending on number of days. You’ll find scooters for rent at the port. And one of the best reviewed rental shops is PLS Motorbike Rental. This is the only place at the port that seems to have genuine reviews. All I can say is that we just rented from the first person that offered a scooter rental and we ended up with a messed up bike and the owner even tried to rip us off.
Motorbike with driver
If you’re not comfortable riding a scooter but still want to enjoy the thrill, its possible to have someone drive you around on their bike. I no recommendations for this. Its best to ask at your accommodation if your interested. This type of option will cost around ₱1000 ($18) for the day (8 Hours).
Car with driver
Another option, which is great if you can split the cost with friends, is to rent a car with driver. This option allows you to visit the tourist spots at your own pace while sitting in the comfort of the A/C. A car with driver typically costs ₱2500+ ($45+) for 6 or 8 hours. The final price will depend on seasonality and sometimes even the group size.
Getting to Siquijor
Getting to Siquijor is relatively straightforward. If you’re in Dumaguete you can be there in about 1 hour via the fast ferry.
If you’re somewhere in South of Cebu, like Moalboal or Oslob, the most sensible way to reach Siquijor is also through Dumaguete.
Make your way Liloan port on the Southernmost tip of Cebu. From here take a 25 minute ferry over to the next island. You’ll arrive in Sibulan port and from here you can ask a tricycle to take to Dumaguete port port which about a 20 minute drive. For a detailed guide about getting from Moalboal and Oslob to Siquijor, read this guide.
Also keep in mind that boat tickets from Dumaguete to Siquijor tend to sell out especially during peak season. So its best to book in advance.
