There’s no need to worry too much about deciding where you should stay in Siargao. Choosing a resort or hotel in Siargao, or perhaps even a budget hostel is straightforward because the majority of accommodation on Siargao is concentrated in General Luna.
This popular tourist area is where the majority of tourists book a hotel on Siargao to be close to the beach, restaurants, bars, lively nightlife and even the Cloud 9 surf break.

Where to stay in Siargao
This blog covers the best places and areas to stay in Siargao. There’s lots of accommodation in Siargao to suite any travel style, taste and even if you’re on a budget there’s lots on offer. Me and Jacqueline have stayed in both the tourist area of Siargao and also the more secluded northern parts.
Regardless where you decide to stay in Siargao, I have listed the best accommodation in each area. Siargao has become a popular destination so if you already know your travel dates make sure to book rooms in advance.

Areas to stay in Siargao overview:
Area: General Luna

If you’re visiting Siargao for the first time, General Luna is the best place to stay. There’s loads of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from. Surfing lessons for any level are easily available and at night there is always something going on.
General Luna is a relatively compact town and is divided in 2 sections. The main part of town has the largest concentration of amenities and nightlife. The cloud 9 surf break is away from the main tourist strip and is more laid back with not much going on after the sun goes down. If you’ll be renting a scooter it won’t really matter because everything within General Luna will be within a 5 minute ride.
Top picks in General Luna Main area ⤵
Camanolo Homestay

Rating: 9.4 out of 10 stars | Price: ₱2800 ($50)
Camanolo Homestay isn’t your typical homestay. Located in a prime area in General Luna, this property sends you back to basics with it’s elevated wooden huts nestled in a beautiful turf garden. There’s even a hangout area and the beach is almost in the back garden.
The minimalism follows the interior with a Balinese inspired design and air condition. This is one of the best and most booked properties in its price range in this area.

Area: Malinao

Malinao is an undeveloped area not too far from the bustling streets of General Luna. Step into barefoot paradise along the stretches of palm fringed white sandy beaches. Luxury beachfront retreats and a handful of affordable stays are available. Enjoying the tranquil beaches, swimming, snorkeling and watching sunsets are some of the things to do here. Doot beach is a stunning little bay shaded with lots of palms and trees and is at the end of the road in Malinao.
While restaurants and bars are limited, if you rent a scooter you’ll have all the entertainment of General Luna within a 5 minute drive. It’s an ideal location if you’re looking for peace and quiet but don’t want to be completely isolated.
DO THIS →book a boat tour and experience the magical islands near Siargao. Or a fun day out exploring by e-skateboard.

Hostel Bajala Siargao strikes the balance between luxury and affordability. Located in the quiet area of Malinao known as retreat destination, the white washed Santorini design delivers that fresh European feel. It isn’t a typical hostel as you have the option of private rooms with air condition, or quite affordable bunk beds nestled in a luxurious pod.
Onsite amenities are a pool and the beach is just across the road and doot beach is 3 minutes drive down the road, the hustle and bustle and parties in General Luna are a 5 minute drive along the beach road.

Area: North Siargao

Pacifico, Burgos and Alegria are all seaside villages in Northeast Siargao. But when searching where to stay in Siargao, the fame and entertainment in General Luna always takes over so not many people ever get to experience this part of the island. But for any one searching for the place to stay in Siargao to experience real island life, this part of the island is pretty close to that.
The long stretches of white sand beach lined with waving palms are mostly deserted. Accommodation is dotted along the road that passes through hundreds of coconut trees. And for some reason in each village you’ll find these hip cafes that serve really good vegan dishes and smoothies. Tak-Tak Falls, riding a motorbike through the coconut road and if you feel adventurous go to little Hawaii are some off the things to do in North Siargao. Also at night you’ll see the fireflies even in the street as it will be deserted.
I have grouped all 3 villages (Pacifico, Burgos and Alegria) together because they’re all close to each other. My suggestion is to have a scooter if you come here because everything is spread out.
Top picks in North Siargao ⤵
Izustarri

Rating: 9.3 out of 10 stars | Price: ₱4800 ($85)
Perched on cliff between Pacifico and Burgos Izustarri offers sweeping ocean views and breathtaking scenes as the sun goes down. It’s one of the best places to stay in north Siargao for couples. The air conditioned rooms have a mix of industrial and soft furnishings and onsite there’s also a games room and restaurant with bar.
Pacifico is a 10 minutes drive. Burgos is just 4 minutes down the road where you’ll find The Hub by Local, a hip cafe serving creative vegan food. I’m no vegan but this place is really good definitely try it if you’re passing by.

Corregidor Island

If the hustle and bustle in General Luna is too much, why not hop on a boat and leave Siargao. Just off the coast of General Luna there’s an archipelago of islands. Some are big and have lagoons in them and others are small or just sandbars. One of them is Corregidor island. It’s just 4 km from the mainland and there’s almost nothing on the island. Just a resort on the edge of the jungle and spilling onto a stretch of white sandy beach with clear waters. For anyone that want peace and quiet, it doesn’t get much better than this. The resort will organize your pick up either from General Luna or from the port in Dapa. →you can check your dates here.
