The area around Cloud 9 is what you would expect from a surf destination. It is a cool part of town and is rather laid back. There is a good selection of places to stay. The area near Cloud 9 is a combination of accommodation styles including guest houses, hostels, hotels and resorts. Restaurants, bars and beach cafes are within walking distance.

2. General Luna Town Proper
The town proper is where all the action happens and is the hip and trendy part of General Luna. This part of General Luna is is a 7 minute drive or 45 minute walk to cloud 9.
It’s a beachside side road often with sand spilling over from the bay. There’s waving palms separating those cool cafes that often have heavy uncomfortable chairs and serve the latest trending superfood along with fruit bowls. And for something cheaper walk to a local eatery and grab a whole grilled chicken, fish or pork with rice. It’s cheap and just delicious.
There are many great places to stay in General Luna town proper. From beach front resorts, hip and trendy places, budget accommodation, there’s something for any budget. Considering this is the most sought out area in Siargao, if you want to find the best places available and also find good deals, always booking in advance. Especially if you already know your travel dates.

The Resort Area in General Luna
This area is between Cloud 9 and the town proper and in a way is isolated and the quiet part of town. It has mostly beachfront resorts. There are a few restaurants and bars but nothing too extreme. Beside resorts there are a few cheap places to stay.

Malinao is perfect for those looking to spend their days facing the ocean in total privacy. It is a peaceful location yet still close to town for a great night out. Malinao is dedicated to some of the island’s most luxurious resorts but still there are some cheaper options.

Loads and loads of cool cafes serving healthy/vegan and light food crafted to perfection. Amazing local grills, hip bars, chill out bars on the beach and that summery, surfy vibe. The town is a combination of high end accommodations including hotels and resorts and cheaper stays like hostels and guesthouses.
For those on a budget I recommend you stay somewhere in the town proper since you will find cheap accommodation and a number of cheap local eateries and grills all serving quality food.

The resort area in General Luna is somewhere between Cloud 9 and the town proper. There isn’t an actual name to this part of General Luna but it is mostly resorts, hence the title. This is a quiet part of General Luna. However, you will still find a decent amount of restaurants and bars nearby and cheaper options like hostels. In any case, with tricycles all the time passing by you could easily get into town with a Dollar or 2.
Kalinaw Resort
Kalinaw is a luxurious accommodation and one of the best resorts in Siargao. Set in a remote part of General Luna amidst a tropical landscape and facing the ocean. It is right in the middle of Cloud 9 and the town proper is less than 1 km away. With its own private beach, infinity pool, onsite restaurant and a list of activities offered by the resort. Minimalist design blended with local architecture and surrounded in tropical landscape make for a picture perfect setting.
Kaimana Resort Siargao

Drift Siargao (budget)
One of the coolest accommodation concepts that we came across. We just had to stop and take a look. Drift Siargao is a handful of tiny brightly colored rooms amidst tall swaying palm trees. The room itself is enough for 2 guests, either bunk or double bed and space for luggage. A shared bathroom is located within the tropical trees. Just walk outside your little room find a place to chill out or hang a hammock between two palms. You just have to see this place to realize how amazingly cool it is.
