Why Close To Saphan Taksin BTS – Our Experience
During our multiple visits to Bangkok, we stayed in different areas including the old quarter near Khao San Road which does not have access to the BTS or MRT, and other hotels along the Sukhumvit line close to a skytrain.
While staying near Khao San Road kept us close to the main attractions, getting to other parts of Bangkok was challenging. When we stayed near BTS stations along Sukhumvit, we visited Bangkok’s old quarter, our favorite part of the city, less frequently.
Based on our experiences, staying near Saphan Taksin means you’ll be located close to the old quarter, allowing you to easily explore this favorite area of Bangkok. And at the same time, you’ll still benefit from the BTS skytrain and MRT system, providing efficient transportation to other neighborhoods and sights.

The area around Saphan Taksin BTS station is the best place to stay in Bangkok because not only it’s conveniently located near a BTS skytrain station but it’s also close to Bangkok’s main attractions.
You can easily reach all the top attractions by taking the Chao Phraya River ferry from the central pier. Or use the BTS skytrain on the Silom line and interchange to the MRT blue line or the Sukhumvit BTS line and reach most of the other attractions in Bangkok.

It is important to note that the skytrain in Saphan Taksin is a monorail. Therefore, this station has a single track and all trains stop on one side only. Before getting on the train, check the direction of where you want to go, to avoid going in the opposite direction. Also, at the station, you’ll get all the guidance you’ll need to help you get the right train.
