When we first did a Kanchanaburi day trip, we booked a tour that focused on the Death Railway and we got to ride over the river Kwai. It was a pretty obvious choice because that train ride seemed to always show up up when searching for Kanchanaburi tours.

However, we quickly discovered that Kanchanaburi had loads more to offer. And while the train over river Kwai is definitely a Kanchanaburi highlight that should not be missed, it was just overshadowing all the other amazing tours and things to do in Kanchanburi.
